The delightful WC in 1995. The walls were painted vinyl silk - lime green - and on the floor were laid stags hair carpet tiles. These had mouldered at the back of the toilet, where there had been a long standing leak.
The window was also in a poor state of repair and coudn't be opened. The original air grille, at the top of the windows, had perished and was covered with sellotape. |

This is the work in progress and encompassed removal of the window and stripping all paintwork back to the wood.
The walls were re-plastered and lined before being painted and decorated with Osborne & Little wallpaper from their Oratorio collection.

Mr Hanky surveys the finished product, showing the Vernon Tutbury toilet and the walls wallpapered and painted.
The floor was overlaid with laminated oak, supplied by Karndean of Evesham and fitted by Bourne Carpets of Bearwood. |
This photo also shows the Christopher Wray School lamp installed and the extractor fan, which replaced the old window grille. As part of the renovations, the grill had been glazed.
